MS Orkan / Route TV

Port of Trogir - Central Dalmatia

Comfort

Description

The Orkan has been sailing in our fleet for many years. By end of the 2018 season, captain Damir Pedišić from the island of Pašman became the new owner of MS Orkan. Damir has an immortal love for traditional wooden ships and can look back on many years of experience in tourism. For 22 years he has been on day trips with his ship "Tri Marije", which is the oldest Croatian wooden ship still in service and has been in the family's possession for more than 150 years. The sympathetic Damir is captain, tour guide and cook at the same time, because he does not miss the opportunity to prepare freshly caught fish on the grill by himself. The Orkan has another crucial advantage: With a capacity of only 20 passengers it is the ideal vessel to be chartered by groups for exclusive use. You probably already know this – when you charter the full ship, you can decide where the journey will take you, in agreement with the captain, of course.

Route

Route:
Trogir – Island of Šolta – Island of Brač – Island of Vis – Island of Korčula – Island of Hvar – Island of Brač – Krilo Jesenice (Omiš) – Cetina Canyon (Rafting) – Split – Trogir

Between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm boarding at the port of Trogir. If you arrive in Trogir by your own car, you can drive to our car park reception from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at the latest. Here you can park your car and our service team will bring your luggage to the port or to the ship in time. You will reach the harbour in about ten minutes on foot (approx. 1,100 m) via the pedestrian bridge. Our bicycles will be waiting for you in front of the boat. After having chosen the right bike for you, our staff will proceed with loading the bicycles on board. There follows a meet & greet including a welcome drink with our representative, and you will have a chance to get to know the crew and your fellow passengers. We weigh anchor and set out for our first port of call on the island of Šolta. Šolta is one of the smaller Dalmatian islands and is known among connoisseurs for the high quality dark olive oil. We will ride through traditional old villages. In Gornje Selo, we will visit an olive oil mill, where we will enjoy olive oil tasting as well. Passing Grohote, we will reach Stomorska, where we will stay overnight. (18.6 km by bike).
The port of embarkation for passengers arriving by plane depends on the flight schedule. With transfer booking via I.D. Riva Tours and flight arrival to Split airport until 01:00 pm, embarkation in the port of Trogir is guaranteed. Passengers arriving later will be transferred to the first port of call for embarkation.

After an hour of sailing we reach Milna on the island Brač. Today we will cross the island from west to south – our destination is the resort of Bol, featuring one of the most beautiful beaches of the Mediterranean area, the Zlatni Rat (the Golden Horn). The tour takes us from Milna to Bol – on our way to Bol, we will stop for lunch and enjoy a glass of wine in a typical Dalmatian “Konoba” (not included in the cruise price). Those who are aiming even higher, after riding uphill to the height of some 500 m above sea level, can join us all the way up to the Vidova Gora mountain – with its 778 metres the highest mountain on the Adriatic islands. You will be rewarded with a magnificent view over the islands of Šolta, Hvar and Korčula, the peninsula of Pelješac and the “Golden Horn” beach. Dinner and overnight stay in the picturesque harbour of Bol (42.8 or 55.5 km).

After breakfast, we will set off for the "forbidden" island of Vis. The island was closed to foreign visitors until the end of the 1980s. Where once there was an Air Force runway, now there are vineyards. Vis is a subtropical paradise boasting an amazing countryside. Upon arrival at the port of Vis we will continue by bicycle to the second major town on the island - Komiža. Passing the small place Dračevo Polje, we will reach Komiža, where you can have lunch at one of the restaurants, before returning back to Vis. Dinner on board. Overnight stay in the port of Vis (31.7 km).

"Cast off!" early in the morning, and after about three hours, we will run into the bay of Vela Luka on the island of Korčula. Our bicycle tour will take us to the town of Korčula, located in the south-east of the island. On our way we will stop at a "Konoba" or a tavern for lunch. Dinner is served on board, overnight stay in Korčula (48.3 km).

We leave Korčula and pass the Pelješac Peninsula on our way to the island of Hvar. The unique peninsula of Pelješac is dominated by an impressive mountain range with its highest peak, named Sveti Ilija (961 m). Being the second largest Croatian peninsula, Pelješac is also well known as the producing area of famous wines like Postup and Dingač. Hvar is the Adriatic island with the most hours of sunshine and the mildest climate. Our today’s bike trip leads us from Sućuraj through endless olive groves and vineyards to Jelsa. Jelsa, a lovely place, is located in the north of the island of Hvar. Enjoy lunch on board before we are heading for the island of Brač. After a swimming break we arrive in Postira or Pučišća, where we will stay for overnight. (51.3 km).

Today's first destination is Krilo Jesenice, about nine kilometres from the small town of Omiš at the mouth of the river Cetina. A new harbour is being built in Omiš, so mooring there will not be possible again until 2025. Therefore, we organise a transfer from Krilo Jesenice to Omiš and back to the ship. Our today's bike tour will take us along the Cetina river to the village of Pavića Most, where our rafting trip begins. While the bicycles are brought to the rafting destination by minibus, we are being provided with the appropriate equipment (helmet and life jacket), and we will get a detailed instruction before starting our 2.5-hour downstream adventure. Inflatable boats for six to eight passengers, steered by experienced skippers, will take us down the Cetina, passing smooth rapids, gorgeous waterfalls, and a simply unique countryside, which is home to many rare birds and other wildlife. On our way, we will make two breaks to have an energy snack and to take a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear water. Our destination is the "Radmanove Mlinice", a unique spot featuring old water mills. Here we take over the bicycles again and drive back to the ship. We will continue our cruise to Split after having enjoyed lunch on board. In Split we will have the opportunity to dine out at one of the numerous restaurants or taverns. Overnight stay in the port of Split. Those who do not wish to participate in the rafting adventure can go by bike from Pavića Most all the way back to Omiš. 18.8 and 6.7 bike kilometres, ascents 390 m, descents 330 m.

Note: Starting in 2025, a pier in the Port of Split will undergo a complete reconstruction (major construction site), which will reduce the number of available berths. In exceptional cases, this may result in Split not being called, with alternative stops such as Omiš, Milna (Brač Island), or Rogač (Šolta Island) being used instead.

Split is Croatia’s second largest city and the capital of Dalmatia. The 1700 year old city was built around the palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian; today it is protected by the UNESCO. After breakfast, we will take an uphill bike tour to the Marjan mountain. After returning to our boat, and loading our bicycles on deck for the last time, we will set off for Trogir. On our way to Trogir, we will stop at a bay of the island of Čiovo, where we will enjoy lunch and a last swim in the Adriatic Sea. With its amazing old town, protected by the UNESCO, Trogir is also called “the Museum City”. Enjoy the experience of a guided walking tour through the winding streets and discover impressive walls, towers, churches, frescoes and vaults. Do not miss out on taking a look into the unique old yards. Take the opportunity to enjoy dinner in one of the numerous restaurants in Trogir. Overnight stay in the port of Trogir (18.6 km).

After breakfast, disembarkation until 9:00 am.
Please note:
Itinerary and activities are subject to changes due to weather and local conditions. Therefore it might occur that lunch is served on board instead of dinner and vice versa.

Location

Port of Trogir - Central Dalmatia

One of the most picturesque old towns of Dalmatia. Trogir – about 20 km north of Split, close to the airport. The old town is situated on a small island, which is connected by a bridge to the main land. Another bridge leads from this island to the island of Čiovo, upstream of Trogir. Due to its numerous monuments from all periods, Trogir is also called “Museum City”. It is a great experience to stroll through the narrow alleys during the afternoon or evening time. The massive walls, defence towers, churches, frescoes and vaults are simply astonishing. It is also interesting to take a look into the old back yards. After visiting the museums, treasuries, art collections and old libraries, restaurants, cafés, taverns and the typical Konobas invite you to enjoy a relaxing break. Seget, which is situated right next to Trogir, actually consists of two villages, Seget Donji with its superb stone and gravel beaches, and Seget Gornji, set a few miles away on a mountain, with its ancient stone houses. In short: Trogir and Seget are the ideal combination for a relaxing and exciting vacation.

Sojourn tax and harbour fees are not included in the prices and are payable in cash on board upon embarkation. These are € 49 per person and week, € 24 for children up to 12 years.

Tip recommendation: You will certainly be happy to reward the service crew’s performance with a tip. We recommend an amount from € 70 per cabin and week.
