Erisa

Istria - Trošti | Pazin 5 km

Description

Comfortable country house for 6 persons in the heart of the Istrian peninsula with large terrace and barbecue area

Trošti is a small village in Central Istria, just a few hundred meters away you'll find the official geographical center of Istria. It is the perfect origin for hiking and biking trips, and the beaches of Istria's western and eastern coast are just half an hour drive away. With an age of about 300 years, Erisa is the oldest house of the village. For more than a decade, its owner restored and renovated it, and adapted it to modern demands. He took care to use autochtonous and natural materials to conserve its original character. Although the plot is comparatively small, the estate consists of hectares of lawns, fields, and woods, where you can move freely. Your landlords, which are living in the neighbouring house, are dealing with agriculture for their personal demands. In addition, they have sheep and chickens.

House for 6 persons: approx. 95 m² on two floors. On the ground floor you'll find one bedroom with a kingsize bed, a single bed, and air conditioning, one smaller bedroom with two single beds, and a bathroom with shower. The first floor can be approached via the interior stairs or directly via the exterior stairs and the terrace. Here you'll find the living room with kitchen, dining area, and a big fireplace, as well as air conditioning, one bedroom with a kingsize bed and a single bed, and a bathroom with shower. Small roofed terrace (approx. 6 m²) on the first floor, large terrace (approx. 42 m²) with dining table and barbecue fire place in front of the house.

Further details: WiFi free of charge, children's playground and french bowls 200 m away. Depending on the season, from your landlords you can buy organic fruits and vegetables as well as fresh eggs from happy chickens, furthermore assist in the vintage in September. Trail bike riders are welcome – on request, your landlord will be happy to organise trail bike tours through the countryside and woods of Central Istria. Adventurers will love the zip line above the Pazin Abyss. Just 8 km away, you'll find the “Zarečki Krov”, also called the “Pazin Riviera” by the locals. Here, the small river Pazinčica forms a waterfall which is falling into a small lake. This area is perfect not only for hiking trips, but a popular bathing place during summer as well.

There’s not many places you are lucky enough to visit that have a feeling like home but this was absolutely one of them. The pictures and description are accurate but the beauty is best captured in person. The time and hard work spent remodeling this gorgeous historic home truly show throughout the house. Valter and his family were incredibly kind, generous, and welcoming. They provided excellent and timely communication and great local recommendations. The location for the area was perfect - short drive to wherever you want to go. We HIGHLY recommend booking this home. If we ever find ourselves in this area, we certainly plan to visit again.

(lecker)

Peaceful and convenient Istria stay. We couldn’t have picked a nicer location for our small family reunion! The host and his family are so kind and helpful. We slept perfectly in comfortable beds and enjoyed the quiet. The kitchen and house in general are well-equipped and there’s a nice outdoor bbq. It’s a central location for easy day trips anywhere in Istria. Lovely old town Pazin is just minutes away by car. Highly recommend! Everything was wonderful. Istria in general has mosquitoes but they didn’t bother us inside.

Selten so gut geschlafen. Danke für den köstlichen Begrüßungskuchen. Wir wollen gerne wieder kommen.

Istria - Istria

Istria is a wonderful world in miniature;  it is the largest peninsula of the Adriatic, lies below the Alps, and is encircled by the Adriatic sea. Looking at the geographic map of Croatia you will find Istria immediately. It is based in the western-most part of the country, encircled by the sea, and it has the shape of a heart. The small islands and cultivated fields that stretch to the sea and a beautiful sunset, where the sun seems to melt into the sea, will stir the passions and will help you to discover new emotions. The eastern part of the peninsula is made of limestone. Its coast is full of rocks and high, nearly inaccessible, cliffs which will astonish you, and from the tops of which you will see the yellow and gilded sun that illuminates the landscape and the sea in a crystalline colour. In the spring and summer the landscape is covered in intense green, and in the autumn it is transformed magically into the colours of yellow and red that make the hills appear as if on fire. After you have tasted the oil of the olive and the truffle, you cannot but enjoy these simple foods for their intense flavour. Istria is a land rich with millennium history. Here were once settled Histrians, Romans, Goths, Byzantines, Lombardies, and  and in more recent ages also Venetians, the Napoleonic army and the Austro-Hungarian Empire. All of them have left indelible traces that have influenced not only the architecture but, above all, the culture of this world which always has been multiethnic and tolerant. Even today it is a land with many cultures and ethnic races, all living peacefully together.

Popular historical and natural attractions of Istria to visit are: the Eufrasian Basilica in Porec, from the sixth century, which in 1997 has been inscribed by UNESCO on the World Heritage List; the national park of Brijuni (Brioni) which consists of 14 islands and over the centuries has been a very popular holiday resort. The remains of some roman villas testify to the fact that many personalities from the XX century have chosen Brijuni for their vacation. The best known among these is surely the former President of Yugoslavia, Marshall Josip Broz Tito. The ancient city of Pula, today the economic centre of Istria, fascinates above all for its roman remains, still very well conserved, like the imposing amphitheatre, the beautiful August temple and many others. Fans of good food will find in Istria many restaurants and taverns, where tasteful local and regional specialties are served. Furthermore the region is known for its excellent wines, whose secret is jealously guarded in Istrian wine cellars. An, often recommended, wine from among many is Istrian Malvazia, a typical white wine from the region.

Young people who love the sun, the sea and entertainment, will surely not be disappointed, as all this is offered in the numerous tourist villages and in the holiday centres of Istria.

Although Istria is one of the well known Mediterranean regions for holidays, its inland areas are yet to be discovered. We are referring to "green Istria", with its green hills and small hilltop villages, the white cliffs, the forests, the limestone hollows, the small churches and the old medieval castles covered with ivy.
