Buje

The Buje area, located in the northern part of the Istrian peninsula, stretches from the Mirna river to the Dragonja river, which also forms the border with the Republic of Slovenia. The extensive hilly landscape features vineyards, olive groves, fields, meadows rich with herbs and green forests, which altogether make the typical Mediterranean scent. The surroundings of Buje - the so-called "Bujština" is nowadays the most popular wine-growing region in Istria. In numerous wineries and typical restaurants, not only high-quality wines but also regional specialties can be tasted.
