Holiday Homes & Vacation Rentals
Your booked accommodation is available on the day of arrival from 4:00 pm. If you arrive earlier, it is possible that the accommodation is not ready for check-in, i.e. it is still being cleaned and prepared for you. Should it become apparent that you will not arrive until the evening or even the next day, we kindly ask you to inform your hosts or our representative at the phone numbers given in the travel documents.
Together with your travel documents you will receive detailed directions from Munich and Vienna directly to your holiday domicile. You will also find the GPS coordinates for your navigation device or smartphone app, as well as the exact address and phone number of your host.
The accommodation must usually be vacated by 10:00 am on the day of departure, in some resorts by 12:00 noon.
All holiday homes and vacation rentals are fully furnished. They are equipped with a kitchen or kitchenette with cooker (partly also oven), refrigerator (often also freezer or fridge/freezer combination), filter coffee machine, as well as cooking pots, dishes and cutlery adapted to the number of persons. Electrical appliances such as mixers are generally not available, toasters are increasingly available.
Bed linen is available in all accommodations, i.e. the beds are freshly covered upon arrival. Towels and tea towels are also provided by the landlord – but you must bring your own beach sheets.
Cleaning equipment usually includes a bucket, mop, broom, hand brush, and dustpan. Cleaning products such as scouring milk, washing-up liquid or pot sponges, for example, must be purchased by the tenants or brought along by them. The same applies to toilet paper; usually a roll is provided on arrival.
Apart from beds, sleeping accommodation can also be sofa beds or folding couches (especially in studios or living-bedrooms). Please refer to the description of the property, which details the type of sleeping accommodation. Beds are often only 90 x 190 cm, queen-size beds are usually 140 to 160 cm wide.
In order to meet the ever increasing demand for holiday homes with particularly child-friendly facilities, we have selected a number of homes that meet this criterion. In addition to a child-friendly outdoor area, the houses also have facilities that are specially designed to meet the needs of our younger guests.
The basic equipment includes:
- microwave oven
- bottle warmer
- high chair for children
- unbreakable plastic tableware for the youngest (plates, bowls, cups)
- toilet seat or potty for children
- baby bathtub
- step stool
- child safety locks for all sockets
- mobile stair guard
- cot with appropriate mattress and protective cover and sheet
- fall out protection/bed barrier and protective cover for ordinary beds
- toys (Lego, painting toys, balls etc.)
- brochures and information material with child-friendly excursion destinations and activities in the surrounding area
Houses with a swimming pool also have an appropriate security fence.
Please note that, depending on the weather, swimming pools are usually in operation from around mid-May to the end of September. They are generally not heated.
The prices quoted include: the accommodation booked, booking and processing fees, final cleaning, meals as per description to tender or travel confirmation, tourist tax, service charges and representative in the holiday area.
Some hosts offer to prepare breakfast, lunch or dinner for you. Please discuss the cost of this at the beginning of your stay, which is to be paid directly to the host (if food has not already been booked and paid for). Some hosts also offer their own agricultural products such as ham, cheese, eggs, honey, wine, brandy, fruit or vegetables for sale. Again, we recommend that you discuss the price in advance so that there are no surprises later. The same applies to the rental of bicycles and boats or any boat and bicycle excursions offered by the host, as well as baby cots.
Costs for pets (as far as permitted by the description in the property) must be paid to the landlord on site. These are – unless otherwise stated in the description – 10 € per pet and day.
In contrast to most other holiday home providers, we deliberately refrain from asking for a deposit at the beginning of the rental period. This is because the vast majority of our guests have not disappointed us and have treated the rental properties and their furnishings with care and attention.
Of course, this does not mean that any damage to the rented property or furnishings does not have to be compensated. This includes broken crockery, towels and bed linen that are no longer fit for their intended purpose, but also damage to washing machines, dishwashers, whirlpools etc. caused by improper operation or use. This also includes the operation of air conditioning systems with open outside doors and windows, as well as during your absence. If there are no operating instructions for existing electrical appliances and you are not sure about their operation, please ask your landlord.
At the beginning of the rental period, i.e. after your arrival in the rental property, the landlord or a person authorised by him will show you the accommodation and hand it over to you. At the end of the rental period, i.e. immediately before your departure, another joint inspection of the rental property will take place. Should damage to the rented property or its furnishings be discovered during this handover of the rented property at the end of the rental period, the tenant must reimburse the landlord for this damage.
In some properties, a takeover protocol is drawn up upon arrival, which is signed by both the lessor and the tenant. On departure, the return of the rented property is also recorded accordingly.
I.D. Riva Tours is contractually bound to compensate the owners in the event of financial losses due to damage to the rented property or its furnishings, as well as due to unpaid services that were used on site and are not included in the rental price. In such cases, I.D. Riva Tours is obliged to seek compensation for the damage incurred by taking legal action in the tenant’s home country.
While air conditioners are in operation, windows and outside doors must be kept closed, otherwise the cooling will literally be “thrown out of the window”. Please switch off the air conditioning when you leave the house or apartment. The desired room temperature will be reached again within a few minutes after your return. The landlords are entitled to charge a separate fee for air conditioning systems that run during your absence or when the windows and doors are open.
For holiday homes, vacation rentals and guest houses close to the coast, the distance to the nearest beach is indicated. This can be a natural beach, while a managed beach, e.g. a hotel or holiday resort, is further away.
For properties further from the coast or inland, the distance to the sea is given. This is not necessarily a beach.
In which holiday homes and vacation rentals dogs are allowed, you can see in the corresponding object descriptions. Please note that in some accommodations the taking along of pets is restricted or only small dogs are allowed.
The costs are 10 € per day and pet (unless otherwise stated in the description) and must be paid on site.
In any case, pets (for dogs also their weight and breed) must be specified at the time of booking, otherwise access to the accommodation will be denied despite general permission or the landlord may charge a fee at his discretion.
Please note that dogs are generally prohibited in swimming pools.
This information is based on the information provided by the landlords – even if pets are not allowed in a particular property, it is possible that dogs or cats may still be present, which is the rule for houses in rural areas if the landlords live in the same house or on the same property. Please note that dogs are often not allowed in restaurants. Dogs are also not allowed on many beaches.
For pets (dogs and cats), the same conditions apply for entry into Croatia as for travel within other EU countries regarding identification by microchip in combination with a valid international health card with vaccination certificate, especially rabies vaccination.
Holiday homes, vacation rentals and guest houses are looked after area by area, i.e. in our representations there are employees available to look after our guests in private accommodation. You will receive the corresponding phone numbers, as well as mobile phone numbers, which are available around the clock for emergencies, with the travel documents.
Please remember that you are spending your holiday in a Mediterranean country, because in the summer, life takes place mainly in the evenings outside. Live music is played on the terraces, open-air discos open their doors late in the evening and in some places people celebrate spontaneously and exuberantly – this is exactly what makes up the Mediterranean joie de vivre. If you are looking for absolute peace and quiet during your holiday, you should make sure that your desired destination is explicitly described as quiet.
Please remember that you are travelling to a Mediterranean country where there are (also) other vermin than in your country. Ants, grasshoppers, mosquitoes and flies are part of everyday life here and pose no danger to healthy people. These include scorpions, whose stings are much rarer and usually less dangerous than those of wasps. They should never be confused with their tropical conspecifics.
To combat mosquitoes, we recommend (especially in the middle of summer) that you take a “mosquito plug” with you, which expels the unpleasant little animals with tablets or liquid based on plant substances that are non-toxic to humans. For evening stays outdoors, we recommend body sprays such as “Autan” or rubbing your legs and arms with self-mixed products based on e.g. apple vinegar or vodka with boiled or distilled water and essential oils (citronella, lavender).
Any local and house brochures or websites that are not operated by I.D. Riva Tours and that may be consulted during or prior to booking are not binding and do not form part of the contract. The same applies to verbal or phone collateral agreements or assurances. Only the information on this website or in the travel confirmation is valid.
The information on this website is constantly updated. We reserve the right to correct errors.
The number of guests may not exceed the number of persons in the booked accommodation as stated in the description. This does not apply to infants under two years of age (please bring your own baby cot if needed, unless otherwise confirmed with the booking). If more people arrive than have been booked, the landlord may deny access to the accommodation or demand a supplement to be paid to him at his discretion.
Special requests, such as a specific room, adjacent rooms or apartments, specific floors etc. will be forwarded by us to the landlords. Together with the landlords, we will try to take such wishes into account as far as possible, but they will not become part of the travel contract.
In most houses with vacation rentals you choose “your personal apartment” when booking, i.e. when AP1, AP2, ST1, ST2 etc. are described exactly with their location. In this case it is a direct booking of exactly this apartment and not a non-binding customer request.
In the case of short-term bookings or booking requests that exceed our contingent, so-called “requests” often have to be addressed to the landlord. The response time is generally 24 to 48 hours. These enquiries are made exclusively on the basis of a binding booking, i.e. if the enquiry is answered positively or confirmed by the hotel company, your booking automatically becomes a firm booking. Cancellations of such bookings by the customer (even before receipt of the landlord’s confirmation) are made exclusively on the basis of our terms and conditions.
Most of our holiday homes, vacation rentals and guest houses are not suitable for people with reduced mobility. However, depending on the degree of mobility impairment, some properties may be suitable for people who are not dependent on a wheelchair. In this case please contact us for detailed information. None of the objects are suitable for wheelchairs – unless expressly marked and described accordingly.
Travel insurance is not compulsory, however we strongly recommend that you have cover for your own peace of mind and security. Emergency medical coverage is most important. Insurance policies vary, so read the fine print carefully to see exactly what is covered, or ask your travel agent for advice.
